China Duties Alternative

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) released for publication in the Federal Register a “notice of modification of action” concerning additional customs duties to be imposed on imports into the United States of certain products from China

As of January 1, 2019: The rate of additional duty will increase to 25 percent ad valorem with respect to products that are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after January 1, 2019. This however, has been halted for the next 90 days, as agreed by President Trump & President Xi of China. The additional 10% which were imposed 3 months ago, is still being paid—-we are just not realizing the 25%, at this time.
